Homenaje al Vicealmirante Eduardo Wills Olaya
Frente a la maqueta del ARC Gloria se encuentra una vitrina dedicada al Vicealmirante Eduardo Wills Olaya, historiador naval y primer director del Museo Naval del Caribe.
En este espacio se exhibe su escritorio personal, junto a sus libros, su máquina de escribir y su taza de café, elementos desde los cuales escribió gran parte de la historia de la moderna Armada Nacional de Colombia.
El módulo también presenta su último uniforme y recuerdos de su participación en la Guerra de Corea, destacando su trayectoria y legado. Junto a esta vitrina se encuentra el telégrafo náutico de cadenas utilizado por el ARC Gloria en sus primeros años, así como una colección de trofeos y recuerdos de viaje del mismo buque escuela.
Tribute to Admiral Eduardo Wills Olaya
Opposite the scale model of the ARC Gloria stands a display case dedicated to Vice Admiral Eduardo Wills Olaya, a naval historian and the first director of the Caribbean Naval Museum.
This space features his personal desk, along with his books, typewriter, and coffee cup—the items he used to write much of the history of the modern Colombian Navy.
The display also features his final uniform and mementos from his service in the Korean War, highlighting his career and legacy. Next to this display case is the chain-driven marine telegraph used by the ARC Gloria in its early years, as well as a collection of trophies and travel mementos from the training ship itself.
