La colonización de África comenzó oficialmente con la Conferencia de Berlín, realizada entre 1884 y 1885. The colonization of Africa officially began with the Berlin Conference, held between 1884 and 1885. During this meeting, organized by Otto von Bismarck, European powers established the rules to occupy and divide the African continent without African representation.
In addition, countries such as Great Britain, France, Germany, Belgium, Portugal, Italy, and Spain began a rapid territorial expansion. By 1914, most of Africa was under European control, except for Ethiopia and Liberia.
Between 1914 and 1945, colonial powers exploited resources such as gold, diamonds, and rubber. They also imposed forced labor and spread Western languages and religions, transforming the history and cultures of Africa.
