The Naval Museum of the Caribbean joins Cartagena’s independence celebrations

November, a commemorative month for Cartagena, is marked by various cultural activities in honor of its independence. As part of this celebration, the Naval Museum of the Caribbean has prepared a varied agenda of events aimed at all types of audiences, highlighting its commitment to history, culture and education.
Among the programmed activities are included:

  •  Craft Fair: A space to learn about and purchase products made by local artisans.
  • Entre Niños” Workshop: Playful and educational activities for children.
  •  Commemoration of the Independence of Cartagena: A solemn act to commemorate this important historical milestone.
  • Inauguration of the “La Maloka de Kalamarí” module: A new space that explores the pre-Hispanic history of the region.
  • Conversatory “Kalamarí before Cartagena: three centuries of history to redeem”: An academic dialogue on the indigenous past prior to the founding of the city.
  •  Inauguration of the Julio César Reyes Canal Library: Reopening of this renovated and organized cultural space.
  •  Folkloric musical presentation: Performances highlighting the musical heritage of the region.
  •  Route “Explorers of Heritage: Port, Fortress and Monumental Ensemble”: A guided tour of the main historical sites of Cartagena.

With these activities, the Naval Museum of the Caribbean seeks to enrich the national celebrations and promote knowledge of the valuable cultural and historical legacy of Cartagena.
