On November 24, the Julio César Reyes Canal Library, located in the Naval Museum of the Caribbean, reopened its doors after a thorough reorganization process using the Dewey System. This effort guarantees a renovated space, perfectly organized and designed for consultation and research, making available to the public a vast collection of cultural and knowledge resources.
Among the materials highlighted are:
• Books on naval administration and naval sciences.
• Texts on industrial sciences and applied sciences.
• A collection dedicated to art and cultural photography.
• Works of literature, including novels, short stories and poetry.
• Specialized material on the geography and history of the Caribbean, Cartagena and Colombia.
• A wide range of atlases, dictionaries and encyclopedias.
• Historical books, including copies dating back to 1911, and much more.
As a novelty, a special section for children was inaugurated, designed to foster a love of reading in the new generations, with carefully selected children’s literature.
The library is thus consolidated as a space for access to knowledge and culture, reaffirming its commitment to the community and to the preservation of history.
