!About us¡
The Caribbean Naval Museum has a dedicated team committed to preserving and sharing maritime and naval history. This includes the Caribbean region and all of Colombia. Our team includes a wide range of professionals — from historians and communicators to conservation and restoration experts. They help protect valuable cultural heritage and tell the story of Colombia’s rich naval tradition.
Among our staff are naval history guides who lead educational tours. They offer a rich, personalized experience for every visitor.
Our administrative and logistics team ensures smooth operations. They manage events, temporary exhibitions, and educational activities so the museum stays open and accessible.
We also work closely with universities and research centers. Together, we develop projects that deepen the understanding of maritime history. Our goal is not just to preserve historical legacy — we also aim to inspire younger generations through the Caribbean’s naval heritage.
our mission
We are a non-profit organization that researches, protects, and promotes the maritime heritage of Colombians. We focus on the history of Cartagena as a Caribbean port and Colombia’s naval history. We use a plural, diverse, and inclusive approach. Our work helps people feel connected to this heritage and strengthens a shared cultural identity.
Our vision
By 2035, the Caribbean Naval Museum aims to be a key reference at the local, national, and international levels. We will be known for our strong research and community-focused communication. We’ll address environmental, accessibility, sustainability, and inclusion issues. We also plan to adopt new technologies and strategies. These will support community engagement with cultural heritage.
Our mission remains clear: to preserve and promote the maritime and naval history of Cartagena and Colombia.
